Jim Bittman is director of program development and a senior instructor for The Options Institute at CBOE, the educational arm of the Company.

Bittman, who joined CBOE in 1993, designs the curriculum for The Options Institute and teaches a variety of options courses for public and institutional investors in the U.S. and around the world.

Bittman is the author of four books: Options for the Stock Investor, 2nd Edition; Trading Index Options; Trading and Hedging with Agricultural Futures and Options; and Trading Options as a Professional. He is a regular contributor of options education articles to financial media, including a weekly article for www.investors.com, and also teaches a Masters level options program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Background[edit]

He began his trading career in 1980 as an equity options market maker at the CBOE. From 1983 to 1993, he was a Commodity Options Member of the Chicago Board of Trade, where he traded options on financial futures and agricultural futures.

Education[edit]

Bittman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College in 1972 and an MBA from Harvard University in 1974.
