John Kerin is chief operating officer at IVAX LLC. He joined the company in that role in November 2022.
Kerin was previously the chief executive officer of the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX). He took over that role upon the departure of David Herron in April 2014. He was also the CEO of the exchange's parent company, CHX Holdings Inc. 
Kerin worked at the Chicago Stock Exchange for 25 years in operations and technology capacities. He joined the CHX in 1988 to develop its real-time automated trading systems. Later, as a project manager, he led the formation of the exchange's fault-tolerant data communications systems. As vice president of enterprise development, he handled the CHX's change management and capacity upgrade issues. He was promoted to senior vice president and chief technology officer in 2000.
Before joining the CHX, Kerin worked for Northrop Corp. in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, where he designed and developed real-time embedded systems.
He holds an MBA and a BS in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
