Julie Holzrichter is chief operating officer at CME Group, appointed in September 2014.[1] She was previously senior managing director of global operations at CME Group, a position she held since July 2007.[2] In this role, she oversees the Globex Control Center in addition to leading the company's trading floor operations, global account management, CME ClearPort market operations, co-location services, business continuity management and security functions.


Holzrichter has been with CME Group since 1986, starting as a pit reporter during her college years.[3] She has held numerous positions within the company over the past 28 years, including director and then manager of the currency complex, director of trading floor education and senior director of procedural oversight and trading floor education. She has also served as vice president of procedural oversight and technology integration.[4]

She left the CME between 2003 and 2006 to be a stay at home mom, but returned to the firm in 2006 to head operations.[5]

Holzrichter was honored as the Executive of the Year in the Finance Executive Hall of Fame by the department of finance at the DePaul University Business School in 2015.[6]

She was named one of Crain's 2019 Notable Women Executives Over 50 in April 2019.[7]


Holzrichter holds a bachelor's degree in finance from DePaul University and a master's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
