KDPW_CCP is a clearing house located in Poland and competing with other European clearing houses. It was created following a decision of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) approving the position of KDPW_CCP’s capital in the clearing guarantee system. [1] It is 100 percent owned by Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych S.A. (the Central Securities Depository of Poland).
The KNF authorized the clearing house on 8 April 2014, confirming that it fulfilled all the requirements for such an institution under the EU Regulation EMIR. According to EMIR, all clearing houses active in the European Union were required to file an authorization application with the national supervision authority by September 15, 2013.[2]
KDPW CCP is a Primary Member of CCP Global, the global association of Central Counterparties (CCP), which represents 42 members who operate more than 60 individual CCPs across EMEA, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.[3]
