Kevin McPartland is head of market structure and technology research at Greenwich Associates. He joined the company in that position in August 2013. He was previously director of electronic trading and market structure at BlackRock, which he joined in April 2012.
Before joining BlackRock, McPartland was a principal and the director of rates and credit research at TABB Group. He has more than 10 years of capital markets industry experience, with particular expertise in OTC derivatives, financial services technology and latency-sensitive infrastructures.
He is the author of research reports on the OTC derivatives markets including “OTC Derivatives Reform and the Digital Divide;” “Credit Default Swaps: Industry Projections;” “Credit Default Swaps: The Risk of Inefficient Markets;” and “OTC Derivatives Processing: Blazing a Trail to Automation.”
He has presented at industry conferences and has been quoted by publications including The Economist, Financial Times and Bloomberg News. He has also provided commentary for CNBC, National Public Radio, Bloomberg TV and Reuters TV.
Before joining Detica, he held positions at JPMorgan Chase in both equities and futures and options, where he managed the development and implementation of electronic trading systems, as well as project management and business analysis of major business and technology initiatives, strategic architecture design and business process definition.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
