Kira McCaffrey Brecht is a journalist, editor and market analyst. She is the founder of Kira Brecht Communications.

She was previously the managing editor for Trader Planet. She was appointed to the position in July, 2012, after serving as the managing editor of SFO Magazine for 10 years. At Trader Planet, Brecht directed the firm's trading education, market commentary and analysis content arms.[1]

Background[edit]

Brecht has worked as a market analyst, financial markets reporter and editor for 20 years. She started as a market analyst at Bridge News before moving onto being a technical analyst at MMS International and eventually became Chicago bureau chief at Futures World News. Following that, Brecht took a job as managing editor of SFO Magazine, where she helped build the company into a respected trading publication. Brecht has passed Level I and II CMT exams from the Market Technicians Association.[2]

As managing editor of SFO she also wrote a monthly column on technical analysis as well as a variety of feature articles.
