Kirsten Wegner is the CEO of Modern Markets Initiative, an education and advocacy organization devoted to the role of technological innovation in markets. She was promoted to that position in August of 2017.[1]

Previously, she served as senior vice president of business development at the initiative. Before joining MMI, she served as director, government relations for the International Securities Exchange, where she created bipartisan outreach and advocacy strategy on financial services and tax matters.

Earlier she was a senior associate at Squire Patton Boggs LLP, providing strategic counsel to technology startups, stock exchanges, trade organizations, and brokerages.[2]
