LinkedIn Profile

Mark Phelps is a nearly 25-year veteran of the futures markets who became the group CEO of G.H. Financials, a global futures commission merchant, on April 2, 2018.[1][2][3][4]

Before he was promoted to group chief executive officer of the company he served as global head of marketing and sales, based in Chicago.[5] He joined G.H. Financials in that role in 2012.

He has also served as regional CEO of GHF LLC and chairman of the board of the firm's Hong Kong board as a non-executive director.

On December 7, 2021, it was announced that he would step down from G.H. Financials and join R.J. O'Brien as managing director, EMEA for its London-based affiliate, R.J. O'Brien Limited (RJO Limited).[6] [7]

Phelps joined G.H. Financials in 2012 after a 14-year career at the London International Financial Futures Exchange (Liffe), now part of ICE, before serving in a variety of sales, marketing and business development positions. His career at Liffe spanned the floor trading era when he was an exchange pit official, to Liffe's acquisition by Euronext and ultimately the merger with NYSE to create NYSE Euronext. Phelps moved from the UK to North America in 2010 to head up Liffe's U.S. commercial sales team.

He has been a member of the group management committee of G.H. Financial since he joined the firm.

Phelps holds a bachelor of science degree with honors from Loughborough University in human biology.
