Meredith Whitney Advisory Group was founded in 2009 by Meredith Whitney, a former analyst at Oppenheimer. The company provides strategic information and research about the U.S. municipal bond market. [1]

In November 2010, it was announced that she set up the Meredith Whitney Advisory Group as a rating agency to compete with Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's. [2]
