Mike Wilkins is a New York-based fintech business development executive who is head of industry solutions for R3.

Previously, he was in product marketing with Addepar.

He was a business development manager for Fidessa Group Plc, when it was acquired by ION, where he continued for a year after the acquisiotn.

Before joining Fidessa, Wilkins was the pre-sales executive for North America at SunGard Global Trading. [1] He was responsible for the technical aspects of the sales process for the group's product suite including proposal writing, presentations and product demonstrations.

Wilkins is also an active trader in equity index and Treasury futures. He has been quoted in publications including Crain's Chicago Business and Futures Magazine on a wide variety of topics ranging from the role of social media in financial markets to trends in commodity trading. Wilkins has also moderated and spoken on several panels at industry events.

Background[edit]

Wilkins began his career as a clerk and then later a trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. He then moved into an electronic execution role at a Japanese bank where he was first exposed to trading technology.

Wilkins has held business development and education roles at optionsXpress, Orc Software,GL Trade, and SunGard before joining Fidessa in 2011.

Wilkins attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he studied Economics and American literature.
