Neal L. Wolkoff
Neal L. Wolkoff is CEO of Wolkoff Consulting Services, LLC and an attorney. He is the non-executive chairman of the board of OTC Markets Group. He was previously of counsel at the New York law firm Richardson & Patel LLP, where he specialized in futures and securities market regulation, market structure and corporate work. He began in that position in September 2012. [1] In January, Wolkoff was named to the board of World Gold Trust Services, sponsor of the ETF GLD. From October 2008 until February 2012, he served as CEO of ELX Futures, L.P.. After leaving ELX on April 30, 2012, Wolkoff began his own consulting practice, Wolkoff Consulting Services LLC.[2] From 2005-2008, Wolkoff was chairman and CEO of the American Stock Exchange until its acquisition by NYSE Euronext. He was named chairman and CEO in April 2005 after serving as acting CEO.[3] Before joining AMEX, he was COO and EVP of the NYMEX. In August of 2014 FNEX named Wolkoff to its board of advisors.[4] Background[edit]Wolkoff was hired by AMEX to restore its reputation and finances following scandals that weakened the institution.[5] Previously, he served as chief operating officer of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), capping a 20-year NYMEX career in several senior-level officer positions. He was appointed NYMEX executive vice president in 1993 and chief operating officer in 2002. He began his career in 1980 as an honors program trial attorney in the Division of Enforcement for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Wolkoff has been a guest lecturer at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a frequent public speaker on market issues and risk management at industry and government seminars.[6] He has also written editorials on Sarbanes Oxley that have been published in The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.[7] He is a member of New York State Bar Association and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. Wolkoff's experience as an attorney includes work in corporate law, litigation and regulation.
