Nick Ronalds is managing director of the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association's (ASIFMA's) equity division. [1]


Before joining ASIFMA in 2013, Ronalds was president of RhoFinancial.[2] While with RhoFinancial, Ronalds was tasked with gaining exposure for clients in the Asian markets and led the charge in creating FIA's corresponding Asian body, FIA Asia, where he was executive director.[3]

Prior to these positions, Ronalds was global marketing manager of ABN AMRO Futures and UBS Securities. He is a former resident of Japan, having spent seven years in Tokyo in the 1980s and 1990s managing the Chicago Mercantile Exchange representative office, where he was instrumental in getting the electronic trading system GLOBEX approved by Japan's Ministry of Finance, and later the joint Asian rep office of the CME and Chicago Board of Trade. Ronalds is also a former member of the CFTC Global Markets Advisory Committee.

Ronalds has published numerous articles on futures and finance in a wide range of publications, and co-authored a chapter on Chinese commodity markets for The Intelligent Commodity Investor, published in spring 2007 by RiskBooks.[4]


Ronalds attended Tufts University and the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business.
