Orange juice futures were started in 1966, after consultation with the orange juice industry in Florida about the need for a futures contract.
The Citrus Associates was a division of the New York Cotton Exchange and its own outright exchange was formed and trading was begun on October 26, 1966, with a total of 92 contracts being traded.[1]
Orange Juice in frozen concentrate form is a commodity traded today at the Intercontinental Exchange.
