Patrick Thornton-Smith
Patrick Thornton-Smith is commercial director at Cult Wines Ltd, a UK-based fine wine investment firm which he joined in May 2017 after more than 30 years in the global derivatives industry.[1] Background[edit]Before joining Cult Wines, he served as chief marketing officer at Duco, a technology provider to financial services firms. He served at Duco from October 2014 to 2017, and is credited with helping raise that start-up firm's profile in the industry.[2] He was previously the principal of Maitlands Consulting Limited. Earlier, Thornton-Smith was the director of market development for exchange traded products for Traiana, a division of ICAP (now called NEX Group). He joined the firm in October 2010 and left in December of 2013.[3] Previously, Thornton-Smith was with FFastFill for three years where he served as managing director, post trade processing, and helped the firm integrate FFastFill's offering of front, middle and back office technology. He left the firm in June of 2010. [4][5][6][7] Prior to joining FFastFill, Thornton-Smith worked at Exchange Systems Technology (EST), which was acquired by FFastFill in 2007. He also worked for Barclays Capital.
