Paul Humphrey was appointed chief executive of BMLL Technologies in January 2020. He took over that role from Johannes Sulzberger, the outgoing CEO, who will remain on the BMLL board as a non-executive director.
Previously, Humphrey served as head of fixed income, interest rates and foreign exchange strategy at Euronext beginning on January 4, 2016. He spent three years with Euronext before departing in December 2018. Humphrey also took over as interim CEO of Euronext London in 2018 after Lee Hodgkinson, chairman of BMLL Technologies, departed the exchange to head up the proprietary trading firm OSTC.
After leaving Euronext he launched his own consultancy advising institutions and FinTech firms on corporate and growth strategies.
In December of 2022 he won the Harrington Starr Top 1% Leadership Award, which is given to an individual that "embodies the innovation, excellence and positivity that is synonymous with those at the peak of the financial services industry."
Humphrey joined Euronext from Thomson Reuters, where he was a business and strategy consultant advising the executive leadership team of the Financial & Risk unit, and a strategic advisor to various young companies. He will report to Lee Hodgkinson, head of markets and global sales at Euronext.
Before joining Thomson Reuters, Humphrey spent seven years as the CEO of Electronic Broking & Information at Tullett Prebon PLC, the UK based interdealer broker. Previously he was global head of eCommerce at ABN Amro Bank NV. He also held senior leadership roles at Van Der Moolen as head of fixed income, SLK/Goldman Sachs as Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA and ICAP, where he was Head of European Rates.
He attended Southgate, London.
