Paul Swann
Paul Swann is the president and chief operating officer of ICE Clear Europe, the wholly-owned European clearing house of Intercontinental Exchange Inc.[1] Swann was instrumental in the launch of ICE Clear Europe, the first clearing house in London in 100 years, in November of 2008.[2] In February 2017 it was revealed that Swann is planning to retire in mid-2017.[3] He is expected to retain his position as a non-executive director of ICE Clear Netherlands. Background[edit]Swann has worked in the industry for more than 30 years. Before joining ICE, Swan served as managing director for group risk at LCH.Clearnet Ltd. During his tenure at LCH.Clearnet Ltd., Swann held various leadership positions in technology, operations, and risk management. In those roles, Swan worked closely with ICE on its energy futures and over-the-counter (OTC) clearing business. Swann left LCH.Clearnet in 2006, setting himself up as a consultant working for what became Euro CCP, the European cash equities clearing house owned by The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation.
