Rufus Putnam Coes [1] is chief operating officer of Paulson & Co., an investment management firm that specializes in global merger and event arbitrage. Coes also is vice chairman of the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association.[2] Background[edit]Prior to Paulson, Coes was a managing director with Morgan Stanley [3], and before Morgan Stanley, a manager with Marakon Associates. Coes also served in various policy and management roles in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.
