Richard Gorelick is head of market structure for the Chicago-based trading firm DRW. He joined the company following the acquisition by DRW of RGM Advisors, LLC in September 2017.

He was previously a co-founder and CEO of RGM Advisors, and has a legal and business background.[1][2][3][4][5]

He also serves as a associate member director of the Futures Industry Association.[6] Gorelick is a member of the CFTC's Technology Advisory Committee.[7]


Before taking his position at RGM, Gorelick was a chief strategy officer with, Inc. He first began working with the company as a general counsel.[8]

Before, Gorelick was a corporate attorney in for Coudert Brothers in New York.[9]

Gorelick founded RGM with Robbie Robinette and Mark Melton in 2001. Robinette was a software designer at Melton was a cycling friend of Robinette's. Together, their initials form the acronym for RGM.

Gorelick and fellow RGM Advisors executives rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange trading floor on May 3, 2010, three days before the May 6 Flash Crash.[10][11]

Gorelick holds a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
