Sheaffer was formerly the vice president and general auditor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, beginning in 2004. From 2002 to 2004, he served as the vice president of Treasury Services. He has been with the Bank since 1974 and began as a member of the audit department.
Sheaffer is vice chair of the Federal Reserve System’s Conference of General Auditors and is a member of the board of governors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He teaches at the American Institute of Banking and is a certified fruad examiner.
He earned his bachelor's degree and his MBA from Temple University.
