A seller is a person who takes a short futures position or grants (sells) a commodity option. An option seller is also called a marker, grantor, or granter, or writer.[1]

A so-called seller's market refers to a condition in which there is a scarcity of goods available and hence sellers can obtain better conditions of sale or higher prices.[2]
