Thomas Pluta
Thomas Pluta is a markets veteran who was appointed president of Tradeweb effective January 1, 2023. He joins the firm as president-elect in October 2022. He will succeed current president Billy Hult, who becomes Tradeweb's CEO on Jan. 1, 2023. As president, Pluta will work closely alongside Hult and the executive management team to oversee Tradeweb’s strategic agenda, day-to-day operations and innovation. He will keep his position as a member of Tradeweb’s board of directors, a role he has held since 2017.[1] Pluta was most recently managing director, global head of linear rates trading and co-head of North America rates trading at JP Morgan.[2] Background[edit]During his nearly 27 years with JP Morgan, he traded and managed a variety of global trading teams across the global rates, emerging markets, and foreign exchange businesses. Before leading the linear rates trading business, he held a number of leadership roles, including co-head of global rates trading and global head of short term interest rate trading. Pluta recently served as the Corporate and Investment Bank lead for JP Morgan’s firm-wide LIBOR Transition Program and was a member of the Rates, Fixed Income Financing, and Credit Portfolio Group Management Team. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in various diversity & inclusion, recruiting, and culture-building efforts. Pluta has held a variety of industry leadership roles, including chairman of the board of SIFMA and member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Treasury Market Practices Group.
