Timothy S. Bitsberger is a retired financial markets professional and former U.S. Treasury official. Since 2008, Bitsberger has served on the board of directors of the CME Group.[1][2][3]

In 2021, Bitsberger retired as managing director and portfolio specialist on the account management team at The TCW Group.

Background[edit]

Bitsberger previously served as managing director of the Officials Institutions FIG Coverage Group of BNP PNA, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas. He has also been a senior consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and was with BancAccess Financial.

He served as senior vice president and treasurer of Freddie Mac from 2006 to 2008.

Bitsberger served with the U.S. Treasury Department from 2001 to 2005, serving first as their Deputy Assistant Secretary for federal finance and as the Assistant Secretary for financial markets. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Assistant Secretary in 2004.

Besides serving on the CME Group board, Bitsberger is a member of the Compensation Committee, Executive Committee, chair of the Market Regulation Oversight Committee and a member of the Risk Committee and Finance Committee.

Education[edit]

Bitsberger holds a bachelor of arts degree from Yale University in Economics. He also holds a masters of business administration from the Harvard Business School.
