Tony D'Aloisio is the president of the Winemakers Association of Australia. He is also the former chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).[1] He was appointed to the position in 2007 to serve a four-year term.


Before becoming chairman at ASIC, D'Aloisio served as ASIC commissioner. Previously, he was managing director and chief executive officer at the Australian Stock Exchange from 2004 to 2006. From 1992 to 2004, he was chief executive partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He joined Mallesons in 1977 as a commercial lawyer, where his principal areas of practice were mergers and acquisitions, taxation and restrictive trade practices and international trade and investment. In addition to practicing law, D’Aloisio held a number of management and business positions within the firm and was heavily involved in assessing international markets.


D’Aloisio has held a number of directorships and positions:

D’Aloisio graduated from Monash University [3] with a Bachelor of Arts in 1971 and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 1973. He was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and the ACT and as a solicitor in New South Wales.
