Vermiculus Financial Technology is a Swedish-based technology provider founded by former leaders of Cinnober Financial Technology, including former Cinnober executive chairman Nils-Robert Persson. It was formed in 2019 with the aim of helping exchanges and clearing houses navigate the financial IT landscape.[1]

In June 2020, Vermiculus became a sponsor of John Lothian News.[2]

History[edit]

Vermiculus Financial Technology, VFT, is an independent provider of high-performance technology to exchanges and clearing houses.

A group of former leaders from Cinnober Financial Technology established Vermiculus in 2020 in response to what they saw as market demand for independent providers of best-in-class technology. The company began with 25 employees, many of whom previously led technical operations at a number of large global exchanges and clearing houses over the past 30 years, including B3, Japan Exchange Group, OCC, Australian Stock Exchange, Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange, London Metal Exchange and Clearinghouse, Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. [3][4]

Products and Services[edit]

The company's products cover the lifecycle of a trade, from pre-trade risk management to its settlement.

In February 2021 Vermiculus launched a scalable, AI-powered, real-time clearing system, part of a group of products the company offers that serve the transaction chain. Vermiculus said the system brings together state-of-the-art advances in dynamic microservices architecture with experience in clearing house business requirements. [5]
