Aitan Goelman is the director of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Division of Enforcement. He was appointed to that position on June 11, 2014, succeeding David Meister. Goelman is a former federal prosecutor with more than 20 years of experience litigating criminal and civil matters.
Goelman joined the CFTC from the law firm Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, where was a litigation partner for 11 years, with a practice focused on white collar crime and complex commercial litigation.
Goelman is also an adjunct professor at George Washington Law School.

Goelman graduated from Yale Law School in 1993 and graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University in 1990.
