Alejandro Nicolas Aguzin
Alejandro Nicolas Aguzin is the chief executive officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). He assumed that role on May 24, 2021. He is also a member of the board executive committee and corporate social responsibility committee.[1] The first non-Chinese person to head HKEX, Aguzin is Argentinian by birth and a permanent resident of Hong Kong. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, but not Mandarin. Aguzin also serves on the board of directors of Latin American e-commerce and payments company MercadoLibre and the boards of trustees of the Asia Society and the Eisenhower Fellowships.[2] Background[edit]Aguzin was previously chief executive officer of the international private bank business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its Asia Pacific chairman and CEO.[3] In the latter role, he guided the company's expansion in China. He joined J.P. Morgan in 1990 in Buenos Aires as a financial analyst in the Credit Group and was with J.P.
