Andrea Orcel was named executive chairman of global banking and markets at Bank of America on September 10, 2009. He was one of the highest-ranking holdovers from Merrill Lynch & Co., which was acquired by Bank of America in September of 2008. (The company was renamed Bank of America Merrill Lynch)

Orcel will remain in London and be responsible for strategy and interaction with major companies, investors and governments around the world.[1]
