Ben Soong is Shanghi, China-based financial technology executive, who serves as the president of CQG - Asia Pacific.[1][2][3][4][5]

Besides his role with CQG, Soong serves as a strategic advisor at Optio Research, a Web3 innovation lab dedicated to building decentralized crypto infrastructure and trading solutions for institutional investors. He has been in this role since March 2022.[6]

Background[edit]

Before joining CQG, Soong served as the head of Asia Pacific at Ledger, a company established in 2014, specializing in security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications.

Soong's career also includes an 11-year run at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where he held several key positions. As the managing director and head of Asia Pacific Sales and relationship management from February 2016 to August 2018, he played a pivotal role in driving growth and strengthening relationships within the region. Prior to this, Soong served as vice president, head of north Asia, and vice president, Canada region head.

Soong's career journey began at Deloitte Canada, where he served as a senior associate in transaction services - mergers & acquisitions from April 2006 to July 2007. He later joined KPMG, where he worked as an associate from September 2004 to April 2006, gaining experience in financial services and advisory roles.
