The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association ("CAIA Association") is an education and advocacy organization supporting the alternative investment industry. CAIA Association issues and manages the accreditation process for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation. [1]

CAIA Exam Process[edit]

CAIA charter holders must pass a series of two exams covering a broad selection of alternative investment topics, including:[2]

The CAIA Association was founded in 2003 by the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets (CISDM), in response to industry demand for a standard designation for financial professionals whose concentration is alternative investments. Since then, the number of members has grown to 5400, represented in over 80 countries. [3] As of 2012, there are 15 chapters, including:
