Cboe Europe Derivatives (CEDX), a new exchange from Cboe Europe, launched on September 6, 2021 with clearing provided by EuroCCP, Cboe's pan-European clearing house. The exchange offers futures and options based on Cboe Europe's single country and pan-European indices, including the Cboe Eurozone 50, Cboe UK 100, Cboe Netherlands 25 and Cboe France 40 – all calculated using Cboe market data.[1]

CEDX plans to add futures and options on additional European benchmarks, along with single stock options, at a later date, based on customer demand and subject to regulatory approvals.

The market forms part of Cboe NL, Cboe's Netherlands-based exchange (Cboe Europe B.V.).

History[edit]

Cboe acquired the European clearing house EuroCCP in July 2020. That same month Cboe received regulatory approval to launch CEDX on September 6, 2021.

Products and Services[edit]

Initially, Cboe Europe will offer futures and options on six key European country benchmarks: Cboe UK 100, Cboe Eurozone 50, Cboe Netherlands 25, Cboe Switzerland 20, Cboe Germany 40, and Cboe France 40.

Over time, Cboe plans to offer futures and options based on additional European country benchmarks, single stock products and shorter duration index option products.[2]
