David Escoffier
David Escoffier is head of sales for global markets at Société Générale and chief executive officer of Newedge, Société Générale's derivatives brokerage.[1] SocGen announced in April of 2016 that he would be leaving the company.[2] He was appointed head of Newedge in November 2013, replacing Nicolas Breteau.[3] He is a member of the board of directors of the Futures Industry Association.[4] Background[edit]Escoffier's equity derivatives career began at Credit Lyonnais in Paris. He moved to London to create Credit Lyonnais’ UK sales desk and then to New York in 1997 to head Credit Lyonnais’ sales effort in the region. Moving to New York with SG Cowen, a former subsidiary of Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, he was named head of distribution for the Americas. He returned to London in 2003 when he was named Head of equity derivatives in London, a position he held until February 2007 when he was appointed Head of global equities and derivatives solutions in London. In 2008, Escoffier took over global responsibility for equity derivatives flow and hedge fund group sales. Education[edit]Escoffier is a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Lyon.
