Gerald Greiner is head of global clearing for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. He was appointed to that position in January of 2013. He was previously chief executive of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd. and Hong Kong Futures Exchange Ltd. [1]


Greiner was appointed chief operating officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. on February 16, 2007. Before that, he served as head of the exchange division of HKEx, beginning May 2004. He was deputy chief operating officer of HKEx from May 2004 to February 9, 2007.

He previously served as senior director of the supervision of markets division in the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC), which he joined in 1989. Before that he held several senior executive positions in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.[2]


Greiner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Allegheny College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo College of Law.
