Gerard J. Pannekoek is a financial industry executive and the former co-chairman, CEO and president at Intellectual Property Exchange International, an exchange designed to be the world’s first financial exchange with an intellectual property focus.[1] The exchange shut down in March of 2015.
Background[edit]
Previously, Pannekoek was president and chief operating officer of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) from 2002 to 2005.[2] While at CCX during its start-up phase, the exchange became the world’s first multi-national and multi-sector market for reducing and trading greenhouse gas emissions. He was also an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame from 2006 to 2009.
Before joining CCX, Pannekoek was senior vice president of ABN AMRO Bank, and executive vice president of Sakura Dellsher, Inc for six years before that. He has also served as the director of international marketing for Quantum Financial Services, Inc. Pannekoek began his career as a senior manager for the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in the US, Inc. beginning in 1982.

Pannekoek, a native of the Netherlands, holds a bachelor of arts degree from the H.E.A.O. College in Zwolle. He also holds a master of management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.[3]
