Imperial Capital LLC is a financial industry investment bank and brokerage firm that offers institutional sales and trading, a wide range of investment banking advisory, capital markets and restructuring services, and institutional research.[1]
In 2010, Imperial Capital teamed up with more than 20 other mid-size brokers, including Jefferies & Co. and Newedge USA LLC, and told regulators they'd been denied access to swaps clearing because dealers wanted to keep the market to themselves. The presentation helped nudge the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) approved a proposed rule to force the world's largest banks to offer swaps clearing services to smaller firms, a change that would promote competition in the $615 trillion market.[2]
