Jeff Gooch is chief financial officer for Markit, a London-based provider of data, valuation and trade processing for the financial sector. [1] He was appointed to the position in October 2013, after serving for four years as CEO of MarkitSERV, Markit's OTC derivatives trade processing platform.[2]
Background[edit]
Gooch joined Markit in 2007 after an 11-year stint at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, where he served in several roles including head of its straight-through-processing unit and, most recently, as a managing director and global co-head of fixed income operations. [3]
When the MarkitSERV venture was launched, Gooch served as its first CEO, and stayed through the transition to full ownership by Markit in the spring of 2013.
Earlier in his career he spent eight years in the financial services practice at Ernst & Young, in both its audit and consulting practices.
Education[edit]
Gooch holds an MA in mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
