John O'Hara is head of prime brokerage and clearing business for the Americas at Société Générale. He was promoted to that position in August of 2017.[1]

O'Hara is responsible for all of Societe Generale’s US prime brokerage business lines, futures and OTC derivatives clearing, and maintains his previous responsibilities as global head of foreign exchange prime brokerage and FX clearing. He replaced Alain Courbebaisse, who left the French bank to join Euronext.

Background[edit]

O’Hara joined Societe Generale in 2015, after working for more than six years at Credit Suisse as head of hedge fund sales for FX prime brokerage, OTC derivatives clearing and futures.

He also headed up the North American prime brokerage business at RBS from 2003 to 2009 and was also a managing director at RBS Greenwich Capital from December 2003 to June 2009.[2]

He earned a masters in business, international finance from St. John's University.
