Lightspeed Financial Services Group LLC (formerly Lime Brokerage LLC) is a New York-based broker-dealer that provides low-latency securities trading technology and risk management for systematic traders and institutions. The broker-dealer offers trading in equities, futures, and options on multiple exchanges, ECNs and other trading venues. The firm targets professional traders, hedge funds, asset managers and other broker-dealers, and is a member of NYSE, Nasdaq, FINRA, NFA and SIPC. It is one of several trading and technology ventures developed by Mark Gorton.

It has offices in New York, Chicago, Boston, and Platteville, WI.

Lime Brokerage LLC was acquired by Wedbush Inc., a full-service investment firm, on June 13, 2011. Wedbush integrated Lime’s trading technologies with Wedbush Securities’ Advanced Clearing Services to provide for the high-speed execution, market data, and risk control requirements of both firm’s clients.[1] Wedbush sold Lime Brokerage LLC in 2018.

The firm’s former holding company, Lime Brokerage Holdings LLC, acquired a minority stake in the BATS Trading ECN in October 2006 and added a minority stake in the Cboe Stock Exchange (CBSX) in January 2007.[2] [3] In 2011 the firm was acquired from the holding company by Wedbush Inc., the parent company of Wedbush Securities Inc. Lime Brokerage Holdings LLC was later closed.

Lightspeed Financial acquired Lime Brokerage International (Ireland) LLC in June of 2011 for an undisclosed sum.[4][5][6]

In May 2018, Lime Brokerage became part of Limelight Holdings LLC along with the assets of Lightspeed Trading and efutures. It rebranded, changing its name to Lightspeed Financial Services, in September of 2020.[7]

Products and Services[edit]
