Mark Thornberry
Mark Thornberry was a derivatives markets professional and ultra-runner who died at the age of 59 of liver cancer in June of 2020. He was a sales specialist in financial services and technology. He last worked for TIBCO Software, Inc. Background[edit]Thornberry held a number of senior roles within the ISV space. He was responsible for managing RTS Realtime Systems Group operations in the UK, while working closely with the firm's global sales, marketing and business development departments. [1] He also worked for Streambase as EMEA director of sales, as managing director at Orc Software, and was one of the early managing directors for Trading Technologies' European operations.[2] In May 2017, Thornberry was diagnosed with liver cancer and was told in June it was terminal. After visiting with others with liver cancer at London's King College Hospital (KCH), Thornberry realized the lack of funds for research of the particular cancer and the need for action. In order to raise money for KCH, Thornberry decided to run 145 miles in three days starting on September 2.[3] Education[edit]Thornberry held a Bachelor of Arts degree (Hons) and received his Masters of Business Administration from the London Business School.
