Matt Hughes is the vice president of strategic planning and development at OCC. In this role, he leads the development of OCC’s strategic and corporate plans.

Hughes previously served as OCC's vice president and executive liaison to the chairman, where he was responsible for supporting and conducting strategic initiatives in conjunction with the executive chairman. He has also held various positions within OCC’s technology team. He also provided consulting services to OCC from 2000-2003 regarding the development of its clearing system, ENCORE. He has an extensive technology background, specializing in system architecture and design.

Before joining OCC in 2007, Hughes held positions at Deloitte Consulting, where he specialized in large-scale initiatives for the healthcare and financial services industries.

Hughes has an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
