Michael Davie is chairman of CurveGlobal, the interest rate derivatives venture launched in October of 2015 by the London Stock Exchange Group and global head of rates services at LSE Group.[1]

Davie was previously group chief operating officer of LCH.Clearnet, starting on January 1, 2015. Before that he was chief executive officer of LCH.Clearnet from September 25, 2013 to December 31, 2014.[2] Davie was named to that position after the departure of Ian Axe. [3] He was previously also global head of SwapClear, LCH.Clearnet’s interest rate swap clearing business, but was replaced in that role by Daniel Maguire in March of 2014.

Background[edit]

Davie was hired by LCH.Clearnet in August of 2010 to lead SwapClear, the company's interest rate swap clearing business. [4]

Before heading SwapClear, Davie spent 15 years at JPMorgan Chase in a variety of sales and trading roles, and most recently as chief financial and chief operating officer at the bank's London unit. [5]

Education[edit]

Davie studied at St. George's College from 1974 to 1980, and earned a degree in zoology from Oxford University in 1983.

2016 Exchange CEO Series: CurveGlobal's Michael Davie Looking For New Twist On Interest Rates[edit]

Newcomers are always looking to disrupt the status quo or add value to the marketplace. And CurveGlobal, a product development joint venture of the London Stock Exchange Group, CBOE and seven global banks, is planning to do both when it goes live later this year.

While much is being made of the LSEG's potential merger with Deutsche Boerse, Curve Chairman Michael Davie told JLN at the FIA Boca conference that the company is focused on continuing its work to pull the initiative and its customer base together.
