Peter Krenkel has been president of Natural Gas Exchange, also known as NGX, which provides electronic trading and clearing of natural gas, crude oil and electricity contracts, since 1994. [1][2]


For an eight month period in 2001 and 2002, Krenkel was also head of the UK Power Exchange, a startup electricity exchange owned by OM Gruppen AB of Stockholm, Sweden. From 1998 to 2000, he was concurrently the acting President of NRG Information Systems, which provided online nominations and information services for the major Canadian gas pipelines. Krenkel has more than 35 years of energy industry experience. Prior to joining NGX, he was President of Canadian Hydrocarbons Marketing Inc., a natural gas marketing company located in Calgary, Alberta. Before that, Krenkel was the vice-president of operations at ICG Resources Ltd. He started his career with Amoco Canada Petroleum.


Krenkel received a Bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta.
