Occupation Seventh President of NYSE (1834-1835)

R.D. Weeks was the seventh and nineth president of the New York Stock & Exchange Board, which in 1863 shortened its name to the New York Stock Exchange. Weeks succeeded John Ward as president of the exchange in 1834.[1][2][3] He also served as president again 1836 to 1837, following his John Ward.

The exchange, which had been created in 1792 with the signing of the Buttonwood Agreement, was formally organized with a constitution drafted in 1817.[4]
