Robert Hegarty is the global head of market structure for Thomson Reuters, a global financial media company.[1][2][3][4]
He also serves on the board of directors of Bridgeline Digital, a developer of unified web engagement management software and interactive business technology solutions.

Previously, Hegarty was managing director, head of strategy and marketing at DTCC from 2009 to 2010.
He was also a managing director at TowerGroup from 2005 to 2009. He also served as vice president at TowerGroup from 1999 to 2005.
Hegarty served as vice president of trading systems for Putnam Investments from 1998 to 1999. He was also a vice president at Fidelity Investments from 1990 to 1998.
He was a division vice president at Drexel Burnham Lambert from 1989 to 1990 and he was a consultant at Coopers & Lybrand from 1985 to 1989.

Hegarty holds a bachelor of science in computer science from North Adams State College and a masters in business administration from Babson College - Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business in finance and marketing.
