The Gerald Group is a private global commodity trading company founded in 1962 as Gerald Commodities.

It was a futures commission merchant with operations in Chicago and New York.

Over the last 50+ years, Gerald has been engaged in the physical merchanting, development, trade and structured financing of commodities and commodity linked assets. It currently has more than $10 Billion in turnover, as well as a global platform tailored that serves the commodity industry.[1]

Gerald was a clearing firm and member of the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, NYMEX and the exchange that later became the New York Board of Trade.

Gerald was owned by The Gerald Group in Stanford, CT. The futures brokerage operations, Gerald Inc., were sold to one of its customers in 1992 and renamed Rand Financial. The new firm was a subsidiary of Trout Trading Fund, the then $660 million commodity pool based in Bermuda and operated by the elusive Monroe Trout.[2]
