Theodor Weimer is the chairman of the German subsidiary of UniCredit. He joined the company in June 2007 as head of Global Investment Banking in Munich and became a member of the executive committee in the Markets and Investment Banking Division. In November 2017 he was appointed chief executive of Deutsche Boerse, effective January 1, 2018.[1] Background[edit]Weimer started his professional career in 1988 as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf. From there he switched to Bain & Company in Munich in 1995 becoming director and member of the global management committee. In 2001 he joined Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt as a managing director in the Investment Banking Division and was promoted to partner in 2004. Education[edit]Weimer earned a degree in Business Administration, Economics and Geography at Universities of Tübingen and St.Gallen and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Organizational Theory at the University of Bonn References[edit]
