Thomas Farley is the CEO of Bullish, a cryptocurrency and technology company.

Earlier, he was the president and CEO of a special-purpose acquisition company called Far Peak Acquisition Corp.

His previous SPAC, Far Point, backed by the hedge fund Third Point LLC, went public in June 2018 and completed its acquisition of the Swiss fintech company Global Blue in August 2020.[1] [2]

Before that, he served as president of NYSE Group, which includes the New York Stock Exchange and a range of equity and equity options exchanges, all subsidiaries of Intercontinental Exchange. Farley joined the NYSE in November of 2013 when ICE acquired NYSE Euronext and took over the role of president when Duncan Niederauer stepped down from the position on May 22, 2014.[3]

Farley was previously chief operating officer of NYSE[4] after having been senior vice president of financial markets at ICE.[5][6]

Background[edit]

Before joining ICE, Farley was president of SunGard Kiodex, a risk management technology provider to the commodity derivatives markets. Before becoming president of SunGard Kiodex, Farley served as the business unit's chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Farley has also held various positions in investment banking at Montgomery Securities and in private equity at Gryphon Investors.

Farley holds a B.A. in political science from Georgetown University.[7]
