TickIt Trading Systems was a trading technology firm founded in 2009. TickIt offered front end software and services and was best known for an innovative drag-drop algorithm design platform, the Algo Design Lab (ADL), that allowed traders to design and build their own automated trading programs. The company was acquired by Trading Technologies International on June 8, 2010.
TickIt Trading Systems publicly launched at FIA Expo in October 2009. The company was co-founded by Michael Unetich, a former high-volume futures trader, and Rick Lane, a technologist who began his professional career designing computer-based war games and terrorist network tools for the Department of Defense.
In April 2010, TickIt received the Illinois Technology Association’s Newcomer Award, which is given annually to the Illinois company that has the strongest potential to emerge from its startup phase and distinguish itself in the technology marketplace.
In September 2010, TickIt's Algo Design Lab (ADL) product was named a finalist in the Chicago Innovation Awards, which focuses attention on the most significant new products and services introduced in the Chicagoland region.
