Tim Geannopulos is the former chairman and CEO of Trading Technologies. He rejoined the company in that role in January 2021, after leaving Neurensic, a Chicago-based technology firm he founded and led for two years.[1] He stepped down from TT as CEO in December 2021 when TT was bought by 7Ridge and was replaced by Keith Todd.

Geannopulos launched Neurensic in 2015 and was president of the company until he left in 2016. Neurensic focused on compliance and operations software for firms in the financial industry.[2]

Background[edit]

Before co-founding Neurensic, Geannopulos was executive vice president, global head of sales for Trading Technologies International (TT). He was the fifth founding partner at TT and help grow the firm's revenues over the years to hundreds of millions of dollars. [3] At TT, he was responsible for maintaining and expanding the company’s customer base. He provided senior leadership to the company’s sales teams in North America, Europe and the Asia/Pacific region and spent a large percentage of his time dealing directly with TT’s customers in these areas.[4][5]

Prior to joining TT, Geannopulos worked as an attorney with Entwistle & Cappucci, a firm with a strong focus on securities litigation. Based in the firm's Chicago office, he specialized in general corporate law and international corporate transaction structuring.

Geannopulos has been admitted to the Bar of the State of Illinois and serves on the advisory board of the Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic.

Education[edit]

Geannopulos received his undergraduate degree from Principia College and his law degree from Northwestern University.[6]
