Traded generally refers to securities that are listed on a public exchange, where they can be bought or sold by anyone, in contrast to OTC securities that are traded only through private contracts. Recently, exchange-traded funds that cover all imaginable market sectors have grown significantly in popularity because they are more liquid than their privately traded counterparts.
