Alex Merriman heads external regulatory affairs for SIX Securities Services, the post-trading arm of the SIX Group. He joined the firm in Zurich in October of 2010.[1]

Background[edit]

After graduating from Trinity College, Oxford, Alex’s early career was spent at the Bank of England, where he specialized in European Union financial services issues, and served as a banking supervisor.

He also led the British Bankers' Association work on market infrastructure and financial market issues, and chaired the European Banking Federation’s Clearing & Settlement Working Group. He was also present in the European Commission’s advisory groups lifting the Giovannini Barriers and implementing the code of conduct for market infrastructures.[2]

Education[edit]

Merriman is a graduate of Trinity College, Oxford.
